Miriam Harper, LCSW
Sometimes life can feel overwhelming and hopeless. I believe that therapy is a positive and empowering journey; when traveled together anything is surmountable and healing is possible. I also believe that animals can play an important role in calming an anxious client, allowing a client to experience safe touch and giving a client unconditional love and acceptance. I have been working with adolescents, adults, couples and families for over fifteen years. I have found that each client is unique and requires their own special approach. There is not one method that works for all clients and I hope to help each individual find a path that works well for them and provides them with a sense of accomplishment and well being. I am passionate about helping teens, adults and couples of all ages through traumatic events, relationship issues, reducing anxiety and creating emotional health and empowerment.

Rex is an Australian Cattle Dog Mix that works with Miriam Harper, LCSW. Rex works really hard to help clients feel relaxed and comfortable with their emotions and with the therapeutic process.
Unfortunately, because of our increased workload during COVID, Rex experienced an overload of client's heightened feelings and emotions causing him to become stressed and anxious. Our Vet suggested cutting back his work day to part-time, and putting him on medication (yes, it's a thing!) Rex did well with his reduced schedule for a period of time, but Rex recently started to exhibit stress and anxiety again. So, it is with a heavy heart, that I have made the decision that it is best for Rex to retire and not feel stressed or anxious anymore. He will get to enjoy the remainder of his life (which should still be several years!) relaxing at home and playing with his human brothers as well as his fur brother. Thank you for loving him and understanding that his job as a therapy dog has reached its end❤
